Accessories can make or break an outfit.
That's a fact. Making sure that you match your outfit with the perfect type of accessories is really really important. First thing you should look at is your body type. Like clothes, we also match accessories with our own body type. One important rule in fashion is to emphasize your assets and to hide your flaws. In using accessories, we should consider what are our assets that we want to emphasize.
Like for example, if you think you have a nice neck and pretty collar bones, I suggest you flaunt that by not wearing any necklace at all. Instead you could wear dangling earrings to draw the attention from your face down to your neck. Another one, if you want to look a little taller, I suggest you wear long necklaces because those create an illusion of height.
Also remember to choose a point of focus for your accessories. You can choose to focus your accessories in your upper body, meaning you'll wear earrings and/or necklaces; in the middle, meaning you'll wear bracelets/bangles and/or rings; and in you lower body, meaning you'll wear long necklaces or anklets.
Let me share my own choice. For me, since I'm a medium sized girl (that means my height and weight are of average measure), my point of focus could be anywhere (upper, middle or lower body) but I prefer to wear bangles/bracelets and rings (middle body). I'm very fond of accessories. As a matter of fact, I don't go out without even just one accessory.
