OOTD: Summer Laid-back

Hello Charmed!

This post will be the last one I'll make during the official vacation. *sigh*  Because tomorrow is UP's registration days. And it's like Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in our favor.

Anyway, I just want to thank those who invited me to watch Sa Wakas! You spiced up my summer! Haha! For my local readers, don't miss it, okay? :D

Since I had a lot of time dressing up and self-timer-ing myself, I've almost made a stylebook! Haha! Here's an outfit that you can rock when you're jet-setting or travelling around. Especially if you're not so slim or sexy (like me!). When you've gained that extra pound or just don't want to show the big arms (I know what it feels guys :/ ). But that won't stop you from being fashionable right? Right!!

Here's the trick: Like me, I've always wanted to wear this dress, but sadly, it's sleeveless and too girly, so I searched for a cover-up. Instead of picking a bolero or cardigan, I opted for denim jacket for a laid-back look. Since it's kinda big for me, I shrunk. Tee-hee. And another is the belt. Tee-hee-hee. :D
I matched everything, including the accessories and ...

Voila!

I'm ready to stroll the beach!

Earrings- Arteefakt| Denim Jacket and dress -mine (old)| Wedges- Payless
Hype this look on Lookbook and Chictopia

Have you spotted that chandelier earrings from Arteefakt? Actually that is from Paige. She won it from a giveaway. Since she doesn't have ear piercings, she gave it to me! I'm very fond of them!

Dragonfly ring-mine | Watch Bracelet- Craft Monster's Flower Realm
Functionality and style in one! Love that watch bracelet from Craft Monster's Flower Realm!

And my fave hairstyle this summer.... messy bun!!! Whoo! I sooo love the loose hairs and bangs! :D

*emote* Haha XD

I hope you would be inspired by this look that, what ever body type you have, you should just know how to style it and be confident about it!

And most important thing is...

SMILE!!!

Happy Summer!!

Love,
Momo

Outfit Post: Glamour

Hello Charmed Girls!

Last Thursday I went to Drop Dead Gorgeous Magazine's Grand Launch which was held at Prive Luxury Club. Of course I won't miss the chance to be there because the first issue featured me and Aimee and the Charmed blog!

Hearing the location and the event, the first thing I had in mind was the word GLAMOUR. DDG magazine features beautiful, sophisticated, gorgeous ladies that will be the faces of the magazine, and the location, Prive Luxury Club at The Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, is a "luxury club", a hang-out for classy people who likes to feel a high-class party experience. Their black and gold interiors really screams GLAMOUR!!! So I won't doubt why in the DDG e-invite the dress code is chic casual-black and-gold.

I got the invite 5 days before the event. Short preparation eh? Good thing I had my best-fashionista-blogger-friends Aimee and Paige to the rescue!!

Aimee picked this dress for me. Knowing she has an upcoming accessories collection in Summer Dream, I asked her if she has black-and-gold accessories .The next day, she brought a whole set! Includes the collar necklace, gold bangle, tassel earrings and the butterfly ring! Love talaga kita Aimee! Outfit saver ka!

Gold metal bangle, Butterfly ring, Tassel Earrings from Summer Dream by Aimee

Alexandria belt (my own) | Combat peep toe boots from Paige of Petite Rayon de Soleil

Paige from Petit Rayon de Soleil lend me these shoes! So fab! Really complements the dress!
Thank you Paige! Love you too!

I love the reflective walls inside Prive! See? Told ya! GLAMOUR is first word you can think of aside from "Wow!" or "Fabulous!" haha :D!
Does this look like an oh-no-what-will-I-wear outfit? Haha! I really loved how the black flowy dress plus the rough chic peep-toe boots create contrast yet partnered with gold accessories make it so glamorous. Simplicity at its best, yeah.

Another thanks to my bestfriend/neighbor/make-up artist for the night, Daisy for doing my make-up! She kept it light with foundation, eyeliner and brown eyeshadow and of course the red lipstick! It really looked good to me! "And that's because of my gorgeous and magical hands" she said. Haha :D

So what can you say about my look? Do I look great for the DDG magazine launch? Please leave a comment below! I wanna read them!

P.S. Grab a copy of Drop Dead Gorgeous Magazine! Featured are diff. travel destinations and food trips and of course Charmed blog's magazine feature with me and Aimee!! You can order your copy online thru ddgmag.com or email editor@ddgmag.com . Tell me what you think of it!

LOTD:This was supposed to be an Outfit Post

Hello Charmed girls!

Another frustrated outfit post of mine, so I just ended up with a make-up/look review for that day.
Last Sunday was my aunt's birthday. Coincidentally, I and my mom stopped at Megamall last friday, and I was bugging her to shop because of the on-going clearance sale (which is not really true because the price rarely goes down :/ ). So I just told my mom to just drop by Genevieve Gozum 'cause of Ate Nina of CharNina. I've been a fan of their blog and checking their outfit posts, and I always see that Ate Nina usually wears a piece from Genevieve Gozum. Upon stalking their shop for a while, I've figured out how affordable the price of the clothes and the variety of the items. That Friday I went with my mom, I saw a lot of sheer polos and mullet skirts for a price of..... ta-dah! 400-700 pesos! What a saving! But since we just dropped by, my mom picked this soft-gathered neckline with a big owl design shirt for 199pesos. And since we are in a hurry, I didn't had the chance to fit it without other clothes on XD.

So here's the story. My mom asked me to wear the shirt for my aunt's birthday. And when I tried it on....
IT WAS BODY-HUGGING! FITTED ! And my ARMS are bulging out! I really LOOKED FAT!
I was so happy with the design pa naman, I thought. But I have no choice, wear this now or just wait for my body to shrink (it will take months?) before I wear this again to flatter myself.

Let's have a look first of my do for that day:

FACE: SkinWhite Face cream Powder in Soft Beige, Clinique Face Powder, Lewis&Pearl Loose Powder in Rain| EYES: IN2IT Gel Liner in Brown | LIPS; Avon Lip Balm in Cherry, Loreal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Fuschia Red
As you can see the products I'm using are not so expensive, and I'm not using other products like bronzers, primers, concealers, lip liners etc. that may 1.) may damage my skin 2.) make me feel I SHOULD use it, thus getting used to it even if my skin DOESN'T NEED it . I just stick to the basics actually, use of sunscreens, liquid base for higher coverage, and use of lip balm to soften the lips.

I'm not against using other products though. In fact it's okay for me to try some. It's just I rarely use them. I love to try BB Creams, various eyeliners, contouring powder, but I'll think I'll just use them whenever I go to events.

Contrary to taking advantage of make-up products, I'm really a big-eyed when it comes to accessories! I really loved the black-and-white scheme so elegant and powerful. So just a simple make-up will do.:)

Earrings from Accessoires Belle| Bangle from Craft Monster's Flower Realm
So when we got there, we met our relatives and they did say:

"Moriela, bagay sa'yo 'yang damit mo! Saan mo 'yan binili? Pumapayat ka ata ah! Nagdadiet ka ba?"
and I was like:

"Hindi po ako nagpapapayat! Hindi po talaga! Pero 'yung damit sa Genevieve Gozum , pinili ni Mama!"

I really don't know how to react that time -_-

My relatives and me

All in all that day was really tiring. But fun! Next day was our org's GA so I have to regain my energy.

Does my look still stunning?

How about you? Do you have a frustrated-story-turned-blogger-worthy post like mine? Share it! I'll take time to read them :D

Love Lots,
MoMo

Snow White and the Huntsman by Nuffnang and Skin White

Hello Charmed Girls!

Who've been there last Friday to the Snow White and the Huntsman event? Anyone? Yeah right! It was really good! I so like Charlize Theron! I really adore her! For me she's the fairest :>...(**sorry for those who liked Kristen Stewart more**) I just still see Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan...  But I like her strong attitude in the movie.
BTW, here's my experience.

I went there with my mom and saw this long line.

So I just took pictures while waiting.

(Fabric) Flower Power!

Hello Charmed girls!
It's our favorite crafter again! As we know, Craft Monster's Flower Realm creates handcrafted accessories, ready-to-wear and made-to-order! I really admire their accessories, so chic and affordable! :)
Their latest craft was this special made-to-order fabric flower bouquet- sablay motif. For those who don't know, Sablay is a sash worn by the graduating students here in UP.
Its very common during graduation that parents give flowers or garlands to their child.  This specially made bouquet is so carefully made and elegantly presented that made it unique . It never withers along with the memories that will last forever.

Here are fabric flower accessories that are now available at Craft Monster's Flower Realm!

Hunger Games Special Screening by Nuffnang, Banana Boat and Schick

I know you know guys how I really wanted to watch Hunger Games despite of some busy sched , money matters and most of all, seems like no one 's gonna go with me *sighs*. Well, enough of the drama, 'cause it was really fun! I won a ticket from a Twitter contest held by ChurpChurp (sister company of Nuffnang). Well I think I just got lucky!

at Shang Cineplex, Cinema 2. Image from Nana Lopez (http://www.pursuitofnana.blogspot.com/)
I'm actually wearing a white knitted-design blouse covered with a matching brown bolero  but because I've been inside air-conditioned places I just wore my UP Jacket I bought from Maroons over them. I also wore a pair of earrings from the Black and White Collection of Accessoires Belle and an Owl Necklace from Craft Monster's Flower Realm(just check the other pics for a better view).

Movie Review: I was satisfied how the Hunger Games movie was made. Great effects and role portrayals. I can even recall what I have read. What I've imagined was there, even though not all, it was portrayed perfectly by the characters. The setting was also built according to details. All in all, a nice screenplay.

So have you watched the Hunger Games?

Fashion Charms: Prom Season!!

It's prom season again! Have you picked the best ball gown for you? I know it's not that simple...so let me help you with that!

I was looking up for dresses (for my own actually) at Multiply.com, when I stumbled upon some gorgeous dresses. Then I remembered that it's already prom season! So I decided to share what I saw and maybe, you can pick one for your own! :D Not only that! I'll share some fashionable accessories you can add up from Craft Monster's Flower Realm!

Ball gown cutie
Strapless Cocktail Dress-Php995 at dressmeuptoo.multiply.com
This one I saw from Dress Me Up. Priced at Php 995, I think it's a cutest cocktail dress around that's so affordable. I even want one too!! Less jewelry needed for this.

Wear it with:

Butterfly ring-Php80 at Craft Monster's Flower Realm
Vintage accessory would add more fun to the dress.

Elegant Lady

Jessica McClintock  Stretch Taffeta Strapless Dress- Php 3,500 at xarixaristore.multiply.com
I saw it from Xari-Xari Store. It's design plus it's black make the dress so elegant. I really liked the 'contrast color band inserts' , not just a design, but also hides big tummies! And at Php 3,500, it's worth it! Pair it with a black high-heels and a nice jewelry and you're done!

Wear it with:

Faux Pearl Princess Necklace-Php250 at Craft Monster's Flower Realm

A princess-like necklace (or something just this style..layered) would match the layered design of the dress!
                                                                                                       Long Gown Diva

Elegant Crotchet Flower Back V-Collar Sleeveless Long Dress- Php 1,167 at  laracollection.multiply.com

Back View

This one's I saw from Lara Collection for Php 1,167. It's a long blue gown (available also in maroon, black and red), but I chose the blue one 'cause it looks more teen-age than the other colors. Though it looks like a simple V-collar dress, the thing is you can wear and match accessories with this than the other two. Plus the crotchet flower back adds a little sexiness to the gown.

Wear it with:

Special Edition Rectangular Beaded Strech Watch with Swarovsky-Php 230 at Craft Monster's Flower Realm
  Check the time with class.

Hope you'll enjoy your prom wearing these beautiful and affordable dresses and accessories! Share your story too!! Can't wait to hear those! :D

Lots of Love Charms,

 MoMo
