Fast facts about Nokia Lumia and Abenson!

Hey Charmed!

Most of us now have those smartphones handy in our pockets! And they are mostly used for instagramming, tweeting, playing Temple Run or Unblock Me. But believe it or not, I still don't have a smartphone! And I'm planning to buy one after my debut, anyway. After browsing for reviews, I had a short list of smartphones to buy.

What's on my list? Nokia Lumia!

Since I'm fond of taking pictures, I guess the Nokia Smart Shoot function would suit me well. Handy when you forgot your cam and only have your best buddy smartphone to do the work. And since I'm a Windows-user, I'm more aware of Windows apps, and of course, the Microsoft Office! (I just love One Note!) So it would be easy to manage word files even when I'm in school!

Abenson could be your mobile gadget haven! Credit card holders could enjoy the perks of paying as low as P500/month for a gadget, 0% interest! Wow! And also get those freebies! Who doesn't love freebies?

Drop by at Abenson's stores and experience the Nokia Lumia technology!

Musical-inspired Nail Art by Paige

They're Playing Our Song-inspired nail art by Paige
Hello Charmed!!

Here's another nail art done by my good friend and nail art aficionado, Paige of Sweet Little Bits! If you're asking why she does my nails because, simply, I can't do it. No matter how I try. Maybe I don't have that special talent in doing nail art (aside from not having nail art brushes and long fingernails). But whenever I have to attend a very special event like the press preview of They're Playing Our Song, I asked her to spare some time prepping my nails. Aside from that I enjoy musicals lately, like Pitch Perfect! And I'm finally singing with my heart out again!

So here it is! My "They're Playing Our Song- inspired nail art!"

I just wanted (and always wanted) a G-clef nail art. But then Paige was having a problem with my short  nails. It's my fault really, I forgot to let them grow for this. So then she decided to design my nails with other musical symbols. She used Caronia Crystal for the base and Caronia Black Velvet for the design and also Caronia Top Coat and Nail Hardener for the top coat. :)

This was done outdoor, so that's why they are a li'l bit smudgy but hey! Those are too cute, right? :D

Here's my right hand! The F-clef complements well with the G-clef. Aww... :D

She even tried to draw a rest and a flat but it was hard because the nail polish went sticky already because we're outdoors.

Okay, everybody sing!! La, la, la-la, la....

Thank you again, Paige for my nail art! You're the best! :)

Love,

MoMo

Movie-cation: Pitch Perfect

  Hello Charmed!

Don't blame me for not updating! These movies are! Oh well having a super busy sched and urgent requirements, I still have time to entertain myself by watching movies haha XD  Give me some slack! I'm not really a movie buff so a movie marathon is just a new way of passing the times when you can't sleep (Ehem, ehem.. Paige? ). Anyway, here's one of the movies I really loved watching all over again! What more?
                                                                     Pitch Perfect!!

"Beca, a freshman at Barden University, is cajoled into joining The Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. Injecting some much needed energy into their repertoire, The Bellas take on their male rivals in a campus competition."- IMDB

Remember her as Jessica, Bella's bestfriend in Twilight? Now she's back here as an aspiring DJ turned to be a a member of an all female acappella group, the Barden Bellas!

Jesse (Skylar Astin), the movie buff and oh so sweet leading man. So he's a member of the Treblemakers, the ultimate rival of the Barden Bellas. How we'd wish every guy sings like him? Why are they so lovable? Why??

The Barden Bellas

The Treblemakers
I keep on watching this movie again and again, not only because they produce sounds in their mouths and do pop mash-ups. I think they're the coolest teenage musical comedy movie with a very light tone.

                                                 Our fave scene? The Rip-off!!!

I loved their finals songs! Of course, they saved the best for last! And the "Right Round" version of the Treblemakers and the "Just the Way You Are X Just A Dream" by the Barden Bellas! So LSS!

                                                        So A-ca-kakilig! <3 p="">

Great to watch during the late-night movie break! But I think it's rated PG 13, though! But just enjoy and sing a long with them, right? :D

They said that there will be a sequel!!! Okay, girls!! Let's match pitch!!!

Happy Watching!

Love,
MoMo

Fell in Love with They're Playing Our Song

Hello Charmed!
Whew! Almost a month of hiatus! Anyway, before I talk of school drama, let's get straight to the topic.
Last Friday, I went to the press preview of  They're Playing Our Song at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati. The auditorium was filled with VIPs, guests and members of the press. And of course, everybody was ecstatic for the premiere show!

My retro-inspired look :)

Ticket for the show (Special thanks to Paige for my TPOS inspired nail art <3 br="">
We are holding on the promises they've said from the presscon. Remember them? Now I'm gonna tell you my personal review of the show!

They're Playing Our Song was written by Neil Simon, music by Marvin Hamslich and lyrics by Carol Bayer Sager. About the relationship of Sonia Walks, an aspiring female lyricist and Vernon Gersch a renowned composer.

Loved how they kept that 70's vibe of the set! (As promised! Yay!)… and what we loved is the revolving center stage that not only used for changing the scenes; from an old-fashion recording studio to a disco club full of LED lights and disco balls in just 1..2..3.. Snap! But also used for the continuity of one of the scenes where Sonia (Nikki Gil) and Vernon (Lorenz Martinez) were in a car and going to a vacation and the street signs go round!  Okay, I'll leave that to your imagination.

There are basically two main characters in the play, they're Sonia Walsk and Vernon Gersch, played by Nikki Gil and Lorenz Martinez, respectively. Nikki has been good at acting and even portrayed Charity in Sweet Charity, but here you can see how she separated the character of Charity from Sonia. She told us that she even make a list of what each of the characters have, then differentiate the two.
Meanwhile, according to the director, "Lorenz is the perfect Vernon" 'cause he also composes and looks focused as the character.  And for the sarcasm, he said that his peg was Chandler from Friends! But all in all, their performance was much more than romantic comedy. Yes, you will definitely laugh your heart out  but then it's very dynamic, along with the "invisible" Leon and the male and female ensemble, that you wouldn't notice that it was just a dialogue between two people!   And somehow they don't lose that energy and the stance, in fact, my fave scene with two of them is when they sang  and danced"They're Playing Our Song" in a disco club and Nikki's wearing a dazzling indiana outfit. ( I'll also leave that to your imagination). You'll also love Nikki's rendition of "I Still Believe in Love" and Lorenz's "Fallin", among my other faves.

The show was really great! In fact I was speechless after all. Ask them! They're all taking to me but then I can't say a word! Maybe that's why I chose to write about it then. Tee-hee. So I must say it now, "Congratulations, everyone!"

After the show,  the cast gathered for a press interview. If you'd only know how my insides are doing their cartwheel that time.

And finally, I had a chance to ask for an autograph from Nikki! Remember the first time we met here. Sadly, Billy's not present there (?).

The cast with the production team. Thank you for a very great show!

The play won't just make you laugh, or fall in love but also show you how life goes by between these two contrasting characters. In memory of the late Marvin Hamslich, this play serves as a tribute to the world renowned, award winning composer.  So if you're a theater buff, music lover, or just someone who wants to spend Valentine with his/her loved ones, watching "They're Playing Our Song" is one romantic way to go!
