NICHIDO Lip Liner in Rosette Review (plus Doctor Who stuff!)

It's fun how exchange gifts and wishlists influence you to try out a new product. Haha! We had an exchange gift two weeks ago in our newsletter team and because the giver should be a "secret" we created a wishlist where everybody could write what they want to receive. Thankfully my "baby" just wanted either a USB or The Big Bang Theory Episodes. So I gave her Loki earrings! Haha!
WHICH I MADE! EXCUSE ME! And she requested that from me long before. #excuses
Okay, well I noticed that on the wishlist, two girls wanted to receive a NICHIDO lip liner. And considering we have a 100 minimum budget, I thought that this was really cheap! So I checked this one out!

I found out that this comes in four shades: Blaze (red color), Spice (coral shade), Roseberry (nude) and this one Rosette (warm pink/brown/natural).

Price: P100! Very affordable for a student budget!

One stroke on my hand

As you can see, it gives off a natural, warm, pink+brown color and it matches my lips perfectly! Perfect for everyday look to school! I really love wearing a natural looking lip product whenever I go to school so it's not very obvious yet you look neat and nice. And it's my first time to try out a lip liner and it really works fine!

Pros:
Good pigmentation
Nice color on my lips
Doesn't hurt my lips when applying because it has a creamy consistency
Perfect for go-to looks/"no make-up look"/natural look

Cons:
The shade is so natural on my lips I almost thought at first I didn't put anything at all! (Well, I want to try out the other shades too!)
Creaminess of the product tend to smudge and feather, but not too much. No worries about that actually.

Will I buy again?
Yes! But different shades! I would love to try Blaze and Spice. I was actually torn between buying Spice or Rosette. But I loved the redness of Blaze!

Under daylight

But I absolutely love how it looks under daylight. I love how can be matched with less-to-no make up at all or with bronzers+blush ! In fact I can totally wear it on it's own and still look like I just got out from bed! LOL! haha!

Powder + Nichido lip liner + messy hair= beach babe just-woke-up-and-I'm-off-to-go

See what I mean? Haha!

And of course, it reminds me of Amy Ponds' look! I know you know that I'm still watching Doctor Who Season 6 and she's one of the reasons why I love the show! And I'm really keen on copying her look! Hahaha! I also want ginger hair!!!!!!

(photo grabbed from net)

Well with a dash of eyeliner, mascara, cheek tint and brow liners (and ginger hair!!) and off you rock Karen Gillan's look in here!

Talking about Doctor Who, let me just say that I'm one of the fans that really love Matt Smith's role as the 11th Doctor and now that he left the show to pass the torch to Peter Capaldi, I really wish Matt to have an awesome career outside Who!

As a tribute to the 11th Doctor,
I made a COMMEMORATIVE 11TH DOCTOR'S OUTFIT: BOWTIES ARE COOL EARRINGS

Hope you guys, Whovians, Doctor Who fans, loved them. :)
It's the best I could do to express my lateness (in every sense of the word) and love for the show and Matt Smith. :)

P.S. GUYS, I HAVEN'T WATCHED "TIME OF THE DOCTOR" YET.
So don't send me spoilers please! I know nothing about Clara yet! Hahahahaha! I'm still in Season 6! (Episode 11, to be exact -____ - ) . So please be good to me! :)

But anything you want to discuss, just comment below! :)

Love,
Momo

Oil-free Selfie with Garnier Light Complete

Are you fond of posting selfies on Instagram? Of course! We all do! We all wanted to flaunt our new hairstyle, fab make-up and stylish up-dos on the social community! But how now I decided to make an Oil-free selfie with Garnier Light Complete, and take note, this is also a No Makeup Look! Just my trusty facial moisturizing cream! Can this be an Instagram worthy post? Let's see!

Let us know about the product first.
Garnier Light Complete is a multi-action whitening cream with Pure Lemon Essence and Salicylic Acid derivative!

SO WHAT DOES IT DO?
Lemon Essence- helps in whitening and purifying dark spots
Salicylic Acid- prevents pimple-causing bacteria

WHY AM I USING IT?
Okay. This might be a cliché, but I have oily skin. So the story goes, my pimply face back in high school--turned acne marks--turned to very evident spot you can see on my ID and class pictures. T.T
The thing is, when I got into University of the Philippines- Diliman, as you probably know, you can't escape, (except from the stress and the academic works...that's given >.< ), THE SUN! It's the one that follows you every time you walk around the campus every change of subjects and you have to hop from a building to another every 12 noon causing your skin to get dark and burned. YOU REALLY NEED A POWERFUL SPF WHEN YOU'RE STUDYING HERE. Unless you have a car, of course. But the catch is, I need a product that can minimizes the appearance of acne marks, prevents my skin from getting too oily throughout the day and protecting my skin from the excruciating harmful rays of the sun.

My own SELFIE challenge using GARNIER Light Complete.

Applying GARNIER Light Complete Whitening Cream

WHAT'S TO LOVE?

I love the lemon/ citrus scent! Plus it's good to my skin! I get instantly matte-finish, clarified skin. I don't get very oily after 8 hours or so. And after a week, any dark spots/ acne marks are noticeably minimized!
That's why I love this product! I mean, seriously, all necessary needs of my skin and lifestyle are met by GARNIER Light Complete!
AFTER APPLICATION:

Trust me, it's just the cream! Haha XD Although I'm not really 100% flawless, I'm confident with my skin! Sometimes I just put powder, eyeliner and lip balm and I'm good to go!

And here's my Oil-free Selfie pose with GARNIER Light Complete!
Is it HEART-worthy? :3

How about you? Show us your oil-free selfie too!

Love,

Momo :)

Review: Fashion 21 cosmetics;Pressed powder, blush and eyeliner

Hi Charmed girls!!

How's the holiday break going? Most of us are doing the eat-sleep routine for those staying at home, while some are on a trip! Anywhere you are, just enjoy the holidays, right?

As much as I want to update, I have a magazine work to do first :D  I am currently experiencing writer's block! So I think I have to free my thoughts by blogging. Anyways, here's a review I can share to you :D

I'm not really fond of make-up products. For the record, I only buy make-up when there's an event I got to attend or when I'm eyeing on something and it suddenly on sale. Just like this Fashion 21 cosmetic pack that includes a pressed powder, a blush and an eyeliner for only P125! I've used up my Avon blush and need another shade of pressed powder. The eyeliner became a bonus for me!

Pressed powder ingredients

Blush ingredients

Let's start with the pressed powder. It has a yellow shade.

I was thinking twice to buy the pack because of the shade of the pressed powder. Because the beauty assistant just tried the product on my arm. And I heard ( rumor has it), that this shade will kinda look fake on your skin. But I realized that it doesn't look fake on some skin tones. In fact it makes a "sun-kissed" effect on your face. :)

Pros:
Evens out your skin, decreasing the appearance of dark spots (see my face test below)
No irritating smell
Yellowish shade for my skin tone

Cons:
No mirror
No brush/sponge or any applicator
Over application= "happy foundation day". It would look fake and cakey.

Fashion 21 Black Eyeliner that goes with a.. uhmm a brush on the cap. That I don't know what it is for!

Honestly, when I first tried it, I didn't like how stiff it is and painful to apply. But then I realized after like 4 attempts to try it, (just not to waste my money) it worked, but since I'm not expecting too much from it, I'm just okay with the result. Now, I'm using it every time I go out on ordinary days.

Pro:
If you just want this for everyday use and you don't want to spend too much for an eyeliner

Cons:
Hard to apply
Stiff end

Next is the Teen's Fashion 21 blusher, that I'm loving among the three! It serves both blush and highlighting the cheeks that gives a natural, faint glow.

When you remove the lid

Pros:
Gives you that natural glittering glow
Blush + highlighting
pink shade

Cons:
No applicator
Messy! Glitters all over your face?
Over application might make you look like you just spent long hours under the sun

Here's my face with only my moisturizer on. I have oily skin (thus the blemishes). And staying up late at night and stress adds to it (not to mention my school work). *sighs*

With Fashion 21 pressed powder

It somewhat concealed my blemishes. See they're less evident here. And notice the yellow shade.

With Teen's Fashion 21 blusher

From pale to glowing and glittering! Those glitters can be messy though. It would scatter all around your face but it's nice to give you that natural glow.

With Fashion 21 black eyeliner

With my eyes closed. *notice some of the glitters?*

And here's the over-all result

I forgot to finish off with a lippie though. But I can say the result is satisfying enough for an everyday natural look :D

Have you tried any of these? Share your experiences too!

Beauty Charms: Lippie Review: NYX and Loreal Lipstick!

Since it's the start of the year , my mom and I started to buy another set of make-up. So now, I've been looking on some reviews about different brands of eyeliner, foundation, blush-on and especially lipsticks!

When it comes to lippies, we must consider two shades; the red and the nude. It's like the stronger and the lighter shade, because whenever we wear a red lipstick, or another stronger shade it must go with weak or lighter eye shadow, and vice versa. Also we consider if it is matte or shimmer. I will feature two brands of lipstick I've been using for a few days; Loreal: Colour Riche, Star Secrets lipstick in Fuschia Red and NYX lipstick in Perfect shade from Pandora's Boxes.

Loreal  Colour Riche, Star Secrets lipstick in Fuchsia Red has a matte finish. So when you apply it on your lips, you may use a lip shiner or gloss to make it shimmer or you may just wear it that way.  It also has Moisturizers and Vitamin E that will nourish your lips and will make it smooth.

Here's what it looks like when you apply it on your lips. The thing I liked about this lippie is that I need not to wear much make-up, simply because my lip says it all!! haha!!Perfect for partying!!

I remember how my mom reacted when she saw the shade of it!! haha!! She really wanted a "peach" shade but since only two shades are available from Pandora's Boxes' Sale, I took advantage of the Perfect shade.  I think it's worth it!! I really love how it looks on my lips. Plus, it feels creamy and hydrating. Perfect for me that is always under the sun whenever I move from building to building to my next class.

It looks a little brownish but I really love the shade because it has shimmer! The only thing about it is that it leaves lipstick marks! haha!! So I get careful not to touch my lips or to leave marks on my clothes! But I still got to wear them because it looks simple yet glimmering!!
